Pet Portrait Commission Agreement

The Art of Fitz- Pet Portrait Commission Agreement

By commissioning a portrait from Caitlin FitzGerald of The Art of Fitz, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions outlined below.


THE PORTRAIT ORDER PROCESS

1.  Submit Order Request. The commissioned portrait will depict the customer’s pet(s) in a painting created by Caitlin FitzGerald. The final artwork will reflect the artist’s interpretation of the subject based on the photos and details provided by the customer.

2.  Submit Photo References and other Details: The customer must submit clear, high-quality photo(s) of the pet(s) to be used for reference. The more information you provide—such as your pet’s personality, favorite expressions, or distinctive features—the better the portrait will capture their essence.

3.  Confirm Order and Payment: Once the order request is approved, full payment is required before work on the commission begins. Orders will be started as soon as possible after payment is received.

4.  Delivery/Pickup: After payment is received and verified, the finished portrait will be packaged, insured, and shipped via UPS Ground. Additional shipping fees may apply if another method is requested. Local pickup may also be arranged if applicable.


PAYMENT

Payments may be made via PayPal, Venmo, cash (for local pickups) or card. The full balance must be paid before any work begins. If payment is not received after order approval, the portrait will not be completed.


CUSTOMER SUPPLIED PHOTOS

Customers are responsible for providing the photo(s) and reference materials used to create the portrait. These may be sent via email attachment. By submitting photos, the customer confirms they have the right to share them and grants The Art of Fitz permission to use them for the purpose of creating the artwork.


PORTRAIT CHANGES

Minor adjustments are welcome during the early stages of painting. However, significant changes requested after the customer has approved the initial direction (e.g., changing layout, background, or facial details) may result in an additional charge between $25–$100, depending on the complexity of the revision.


CANVAS INFO

All sizes listed are gallery-wrapped canvases with a depth of approximately 1.5". This allows each piece to stand on its own, with or without hanging hardware. Please note: hanging hardware is not included.


CUSTOM SIZING

If you're interested in a size not listed among the standard options, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Custom sizes may be available upon request and will include an additional fee.


REFUND POLICY

Because each portrait is 100% custom-made for you, all payments are non-refundable once work has begun.


PORTRAIT COMPLETION TIME LINE

Portrait completion time varies based on factors like size, number of pets, custom requests, and the number of revisions. While timelines may fluctuate, most portraits are completed and shipped within 30 days of receiving all reference materials and full payment—provided there are no delays in customer approvals or communications.


COPYRIGHT AND USAGE

The artist, Caitlin FitzGerald of The Art of Fitz, retains all rights to the artwork, including the right to reproduce, publish, or display it for promotional purposes.
Customers may use images of their commissioned portrait for personal use only. Commercial use or reproduction requires written permission.
